There has been much controversy over the use of medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Do not use a medication until you clear it with your obstetrician unless it is prescribed by them.
There are some over the counter (OTC) medications that are considered safe for common discomforts of pregnancy when taken as directed.

Eating something dry immediately upon wakening such as toast or crackers will ease nausea. Instead of eating three large meals, try eating six smaller bland meals spaced evenly throughout the day. If you feel that your nausea is uncontrolled, you may need a prescription medication.
Avoid spicy foods. Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
To relieve constipation increase the intake of fluids, apple juice, fiber and water.
Keep well hydrated with clear liquids including bouillon, jello, 7-up, soup, or Gatorade.
